The Waikato Offroad Racing Club ran this event last year as the Castle Craig 250 as a trial for the nationals. This year we listened to your input and have done the changes you have asked for (it’s all about you the competitors).
The track is wider, longer and the gateways have been shifted. The Gilbert family once again have been very helpful in making these changes. For the people who weren’t at the Castle Craig 250 this event is run on an 800 acre farm owned by Simeon Gilbert’s family (he’s the legend who ran a Subaru (Heidi) at the Taupo 1000 a few years back).
Between Maurice Bain and Simeon Gilbert they have done it. Better. Wider. Faster. With the first round in the South Island cancelled those big beasts will want somewhere to run which is fast and open. Brownless and Fisher loved it last year and I believe are thinking about the trip.
